On July 4, at 9:32 p.m. a 12-year-old girl was reported missing from her home in Rocky View County.

Cochrane RCMP attended the area and commenced a search utilizing a police dog, and an RCMP drone along with Cochrane and Calgary Search and Rescue teams.

At 8 a.m. on the morning of July 5, the youth walked out of the bush and was located by a member of the public who lived in the area, provided her food and contacted police. The youth was then reunited with her family.

Cochrane RCMP would like to thank the Search and Rescue volunteers who came and assisted as well as members of the public for their quick thinking and kindness in assisting the youth until police arrived.
